I can’t believe it’s December already. This year really does seem to have been a super-fast one, and full of momentous life-changing events for me, which I know have/are making me a stronger, more adaptable person.
This time last year, that big end date of the Mayan calendar was looming. Around the world there was fear about the end of the world (not what was meant by the end of a calendar at all, but we humans love the idea of Armageddon) or hope of a massive change or shift in our consciousness to instantly bring forth a new Golden Era of mankind. I wrote a bit about it in Spirit&Destiny and Soul&Spirit and even spoke about it on my local radio, BBC Radio Sussex. Suddenly I was an expert on it!
I’d read various ideas and theories about it, and what made most sense was what the Mayan descendants and Mayan calendar experts, such as Eden Sky, were saying – that this end date was about the end of time as we knew it, the end of a attachment to the clock, to mechanized time, to old ways of living in an industrialised world. It certainly felt like the time was right for that, if you look at how much the Industrial Revolution, which transformed nicely into full-blown Capitalism with rampant consumerism and a need for constant, unsustainable profits over anything else, has seriously damaged the planet and the human psyche. But the world is massive and this twisted and destructive path so ingrained in humanity that things weren’t going to drastically change in an instant, at the very moment of winter solstice, or even overnight.
But that day was still pretty special and could easily have been the start of something big, if not a whole new, unified era of humankind.
At dawn on the solstice, the sun shone through the grey clouds that covered the sky the rest of the morning, until the very moment the clock hit the Unify moment just after 11am. This international event was even on the front pages of mainstream newspapers, such as The Independent, and saw many people around the world connecting – in thought, meditation, prayer for the future – bound together in a unified moment of human connection that went around the planet. We joined together in the present moment, the only time there really is, and from that place, that moment, magic can happen.
Personally, I went out for a walk in the fields. I felt the need to tramp in the mud, to look at the earth, to be under the sky, in nature. I sensed it was the unifying time. Stopped, shut my eyes, breathed it in and faced towards the sun, once again shining through the cloud cover as if it knew it was being reborn. Incredibly, in my mind’s eye, I saw the pyramids, with a purple beam of light coming out the top of them. I knew people were gathering there to meditate as well, but they flashed into my mind so fast, were we all activating their power, perhaps? I only stood there for a few minutes, but it felt pretty majestic for an occasional meditator. I didn’t stop smiling all day. Things felt special, even as they were still ordinary.
I know and have read of many others doing similar meditations at solstice moment and visualising all sorts of cool things, from being hugged by Pachamama, to conversing with the angels. Maybe those into that kind of thing, really connected with a higher power, and received all the guidance or joy that can bring. If you weren’t into it, you might not have felt a thing and wondered what all the fuss was about. Even so, thousands all over the world connected with each other, in peace, setting the intention for a better world, or of bringing the light back into a place of darkness – what the solstice is traditionally about anyway, but maybe this ‘end date’ magnified it. It could well have ignited big, big changes in our consciousness.
There’s certainly been more outing of wrong-doing, lies and corruption this year, thanks to Snowdon revealing all the international spying, the truth about war and the power of prayer possibly stopping US intervention in Syria. More and more people really are waking up to the fact that the systems – of economics, government, capitalism – aren’t fair, aren’t working and need to be changed. And real change is coming, slowly, but have faith, it is happening: from the clean up of the ocean by a 19-year-old boy’s cool invention, to certain mainstream celebs, such as Russell Brand and Matt Damon, speaking up more about the reality of the world and the need for a spiritual connection between us all and the planet that is our home.
I can definitely see a revolution has begun, a revolution of thinking, feeling and being in the world that is the promise of things to come. Stay tuned to the real Source of truth (not the television) to find out more as it unfolds.
Happy Winter Solstice all.
