Now is the time. The much-talked-about and anticipated ‘end of the Mayan calendar’ date, winter solstice 2012, is this Friday. No escaping it, we’re all in it together. Stock up on canned food, bottled water and matches, who knows what may happen?
Actually, plenty of people do, and it’s not the overly feared apocalypse via giant meteor, mysterious planet or enormous blast from the sun hitting our planet. The end of the long count calendar of the ancient Maya doesn’t mean the end of the world, unlike the ‘2012’ film would have us believe.
In fact, as scholars and descendants of these intelligent astronomers, mathematicians and seers have been saying all along, it’s the end of an era – one of dualism, ego and fear, that has nearly destroyed the planet.
We are now experiencing a big consciousness shift as we move into the beginning of the next era – a new Golden Age, full of love, kindness and compassion. We could certainly do with a bit more of that on the planet. So are you up for helping it happen? Forget the Christmas shopping for a while!
On this special solstice day, many people around the world are uniting in meditation, prayer and positive thought to focus intentions on making the world a better place. If many minds are unified in peace, love and harmony, why shouldn’t this reality become, well, real? It probably won’t happen in that very instant, in a flash of enlightenment for everyone on the planet, at the exact moment of solstice, but the opportunity to link with like-minded, open-hearted others at the same time, could be the start of something really good. It certainly can’t harm to try.
You can join with the thousands who will be greeting the solstice dawn at sacred sites around the world, find your local meditation group doing something special or simply make some time to be still, by yourself, and link your mind into the collective consciousness, focused on making a difference right now.

Those in the ever-growing 13Moon calendar movement, which follows one of the ancient Mayan’s many calendars called the Tzolkin, have been visualising a rainbow bridge around the world once a week, for years, as a symbol of the new era of peace coming now. From the 19th to 21st December, join them every day, simply by holding the image of a rainbow around the world in your heart and mind, to amplify its power to push us into a new era of equality, compassion and love.
Find out more details of how to do it here (it’s easy): http://
Plus, 13Moon pioneer Eden Sky has this beautiful Solstice Prayer to say on 21st December, which sounds especially made for Open Beyond – beautifully illustrating the kind of synchronicity you can expect when you follow the 13Moon calendar. Look out for a course on this coming to Open Beyond in the New Year!
